October 9, 2018In May 2018, Ficosterra initiated a new field trial in collaboration with the Science Park Foundation of the University of Valladolid to evaluate the effects of the bio-stimulant ficosagro® on alfalfa production.
The trial, led by Ángel Fombedilla, associate professor in the Department of Plant Production at the University of Valladolid’s Palencia Campus, was conducted on research plots managed by the university.
Objectives of the alfalfa trial
Professor Fombedilla designed a study focusing on four key points:

30 liters of ficosagro® per hectare.

April 15, 2018, and May 17, 2018.
Results obtained
Upon completion of the alfalfa campaign and analysis of the study’s objectives, the following results were achieved:

Continuous increase in yield
Crops treated with the microbial bio-stimulant ficosagro® showed a 20% increase in total yield per hectare compared to untreated plots.

Improvement in protein content
A 20% increase in crude protein levels in alfalfa was also recorded.

Greater effectiveness in strategic cuts
Higher application rates during the first cut and additional doses after the second/third cut significantly boosted overall productivity.
