March 18, 2018Ficosterra made its debut at Biofach, the world’s most important international organic products fair, held in Nuremberg (Germany) from February 14 to 17, 2018.
Ficosterra was part of the institutional stand of the Junta de Castilla y León, coordinated by the Institute for Business Competitiveness (ICE), along with five other exhibitors from Castilla y León.
At this prominent event, Ficosterra showcased its innovative organic fertilizers: Bokashi (or bocashi, as it is known in Spain) made from algae, Ficosterra-g, and the liquid biostimulant Ficosagro.

International promotion
and new opportunities
Participating in Biofach represented a strategic opportunity for Ficosterra, which aims to expand its distribution channels in Germany and Europe. Its goal is to consolidate the export of its products for the agricultural sector: Ficosterra-g Bokashi algae and Ficosagro liquid biostimulant, both of which attracted significant interest among attendees.

Over the four days of the fair, Ficosterra’s technical team and its general manager, Luis Lombana, welcomed representatives from more than 150 companies in the organic agriculture sector. These included producers of substrates and liquid fertilizers as well as distribution companies looking to expand their portfolio of organic products.
Biofach: A global benchmark
in the organic market
Biofach is recognized as the leading international trade fair for organic products, covering everything from raw materials and food to textiles, footwear, cosmetics, and hygiene products. The 2018 edition featured 3,218 exhibitors from 93 countries and attracted more than 50,000 visitors from 134 countries.
The organic sector has experienced steady growth over the last 25 years, with highly optimistic prospects. Growth is expected in the consumption of organic food, the inclusion of new countries and consumers in the organic market, and a trend toward more accessible prices.

Spain: A leader in organic agriculture
Spain holds a prominent position in organic agriculture, leading the area of organic crop production in Europe and ranking fifth worldwide, after Australia, Argentina, the United States, and China.
Aware of this potential, Ficosterra aims to establish itself as one of Spain’s leading brands in organic fertilizers and biostimulants, both liquid and solid. Its commitment to products based on algae and microorganisms offers a sustainable and effective alternative to traditional fertilizers and organic amendments.
Ficosterra’s presence at Biofach 2018 marks a significant milestone in its international expansion strategy. With innovative and sustainable products, the company reaffirms its commitment to organic agriculture, positioning itself as a key player in the European organic fertilizer market.
